I'm always shy to celebrate myself or announce achievements, content to let birthdays, awards and accomplishments go by unnoticed. But...I'm trying to better about that so yeah...I got this award today.

Myself along with other awardees were celebrated this morning at the Office for Equity and Diversity's 12th Annual Equity and Diversity breakfast. I was joined by two of my mentors, Dr. Douglas Hartmann, professor and chair of the UMN Sociology Department and Anthony Albecker, director of the TRiO McNair Scholars program. I am honored to receive this award and to in the company of other incredible scholars.
